Sayings of Prophet Muhammad

Keeping good relations

"Abu Huraira reported that a person said: Allah's Messenger, who amongst the people is most deserving of my good treatment? He said: Your mother, again your mother, again your mother, then your father, then your nearest relatives according to the order (of nearness)" (sahih muslim: 6181)

"Abdullah b. Umar reported Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: The finest act of goodness is that a person should treat kindly the loved ones of his father" (sahih muslim: 6193)

"A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The tie of kinship is suspended to the Throne and says: He who unites me Allah would unite him and he who severed me Allah would sever him" (unity in Islam is very important according to this hadith) (sahih muslim: 6198)

"Jubair b. Mut'im reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The severer would not enter Paradise. Ibn Umar said that Sufyan (explained it as): One who severs the tie of kinship would not enter Paradise" (the Prophet (SAAW) stresses the fact that good relation is very important) (sahih muslim: 6199)

"Abdullah b. 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: It is not permissible for a Muslim to have estranged relations with his brother beyond three days" (all muslims should collaborate together and avoid conflicts) (sahih muslim: 6212)

Intoxication and Prayer

the Prophet (SAAW) said:
He who attaches little value to namaaz is not of me, nor is the one who consumes an intoxicant; he will not meet me at Hawdh-e-Kawthar, no by Allah, he will not! (Hadith 39 Raudato Hidayaat Vol. 2)
